A word from the baker

It began with my mother’s banana cake.

Long before there was a shop, she baked it every week — no recipe ever written down, just the same worn tin and a feel for when it was ready. I learned it standing beside her. We started with nothing but that recipe and a stubborn kind of hope, and we still bake it her way. It should taste the way you remember.
